Merriscourt is a beautiful Cotswolds wedding venue on the border of Oxfordshire & Gloucestershire. 500 acres of glorious countryside, three stunning interlocked barns and the nicest events team ever!
As an Oxfordshire wedding photographer, I'm very lucky to have many beautiful wedding venues around me and I am honoured to be listed as a Merriscourt recommended supplier.
Merriscourt Wedding Photography
Jess and Matt's wedding at the breathtaking Merriscourt in the Cotswolds was an absolute dream to photograph - overflowing with joyous emotions, contagious laughter, and a palpable atmosphere of love. As a recommended wedding photographer at Merriscourt, I feel so honoured to frequently work at such a magical setting.
Nestled amongst the quintessentially English countryside, Merriscourt's location provides the perfect rustic-chic backdrop for a candid, natural wedding photography style like my own. The vast, rolling grounds with lush greenery and classic Cotswold stone buildings make for a truly dreamy portrait setting that I never tire of. I always feel absolutely spoiled for choice when it comes to finding stunning spots for Jess and Matt's bride and groom photos, as virtually every angle yields an enchanting new composition.
The venue itself exudes a whimsical, fairytale-inspired charm from every corner. The historic Stone Barn with its warm hues and exposed wooden beams seamlessly blends rustic elements with an understated elegance. The bright, airy White Barn offered a sleek, sophisticated space for the reception. And the cozy Gallery provided a welcoming lounge area for guests to relax between celebrations. But perhaps the piéce de résistance is the picturesque courtyard, anchored by a spectacular festoon-lit tree creating a twinkling, magical canopy overhead.
Showstopping Cheese! The edible type not the cringe type!
Instead of a traditional tiered wedding cake, Jess and Matt opted for a showstopping cheese tower centerpiece that stole the spotlight. Meticulously crafted with an array of artisan wheels, from creamy bries to pungent blues and everything in between, this edible masterpiece was both a visual feast and a gourmand's delight. Guests couldn't resist capturing its impressive splendour, with phones emerging left and right to photograph the grand fromage display. It proved to be an undeniable crowd-pleaser that had everyone buzzing with delight.
Oh Merriscourt, I love you!
As the evening festivities commenced, the golden sun began its descent behind the rolling hills, bathing the countryside in that warm, glowing light that photographers like myself dream about. We couldn't let that opportunity go to waste! Jess and Matt were absolute troopers as we briefly whisked them away to find the perfect spot to capture some romantic golden hour portraits, providing the perfect cap to their perfect day.
