It's no wonder that Mapledurham is such an appealing wedding venue. With it's striking 12th Century family house, working mill and being tucked in besides The Thames, making it accessible by boat.

In addition to the beautiful grounds, it also has an interesting history and boasts an impressive list of movies filmed at the estate, famously the 1976 film ‘The Eagle Has Landed’. It’s also been the set for the Midsomer Murders and more recently the TV series Taboo with Tom Hardy.

Sara and Matt made the most of the location and arrived by boat on a beautiful, warm summers day. Friends and family had flown over from the States and I loved overhearing some New Yorkers marvelling about how they'd never been surrounded by so much countryside.

A beautiful day with a dreamy golden hour and a full moon to finish off.
