The Bay Tree, Burford, Happily newly wed Middle aged bridal couple with dog

THE BAY TREE

The Cotswolds

Jenny & Del

I do love an inspirational story! These two are the sweetest of souls with the greatest proposal story. Jen and Del cycled John O'Groats to Lands End and after cycling all that way, high on adrenaline and tired from the journey, Del popped a £1.99 mood ring into Jen's half pint of lager! It was a big surprise and of course the answer was yes!

They have the best sense of humour and the most gorgeous Blue Whippet called Deacon. Before their wedding I asked them if they were nervous about any part of their day and I was ready to offer some advice and wedding day tips. Jen said she's quite clumsy so was nervous about falling over, especially as she would be 8 months pregnant. And Del's answer was, he's not nervous of anything but he doesn't like rats! Lol. Well, I guess the military training helps Del keep a cool head but nothing can make him like rats.

And what a day their wedding was; a rainy but gorgeous autumn wedding at The Bay Tree, Burford, in the heart of the Cotswolds, and a total treat to be there for them. It was a day brimming with fun, laughter and great company.

My favourite moment:

When they changed into matching flashing trainers for their First Dance. And Jen was amazing!! 8 months pregnant, non stop all day, a quick dog walk around Burford and then boogying all night long, what a star!

Wedding day feedback

Any positive supplier connections you'd like to mention?

Tamsins bridal from Kidderminster were fantastic and worked magic with my dress. Anemone Flowers in Kidlington were great and after only one meeting delivered exactly what we wanted and of course Vicky was there to keep us relaxed, I knew I'd found the right person in our first call.

Were there any traditions you either felt strongly to do or not to do?

No, I think we blew any traditions out of the water!

What song did you walk down the aisle to?

How sweet it is to be loved by you (instrumental Piano)

What song played for your first dance?

Queen, Crazy thing called love

How did you feel at the end of your wedding day?

Relieved! Happy and excited about the next part of our adventure

Did you receive any gifts that were a little 'out of the ordinary' or anything that blew your mind?

We asked friends and family to give donations to cancer research

When you look back at your day what makes you feel the most emotional?

Walking in and the ceremony, saying our vows

And just for fun, if you could do it all over again, is there anything you would do differently?

Do a rain dance, or buy an extra large clear gazebo for outside photos in heavy rain :-)

What did you enjoy most about working with Vicky as your photographer?

It was fun, Vicky went with the flow, wasn't worried about our lack of planning and kept me relaxed before it all started. Vicky and her assistant were so helpful with make up and running around, I couldn't have done it without them.

Any advice for those couples planning their wedding now?

Everyone is different and don't do something because that's what someone else did. Don't get too excited if the weather stops your perfectly planned photos
