An Intimate Oxfordshire Wedding at The Randolph Hotel

Kate and Jack are so obviously besotted with each other and as an Oxfordshire wedding photographer it was just wonderful to be around so much happiness. It's a wedding photographer's dream to capture a day filled with the love and laughter of two people who are crazy in love.

Gorgeous eclectic character

Kate's American family had flown over and the joy and affection among them all set the tone for an incredibly warm and loving celebration. The charming Lancaster Room at The Randolph Hotel provided the perfect setting for Kate and Jack's ceremony. The duck egg blue walls, pops of magenta and cobalt from the cozy sofas, and large windows overlooking the Ashmolean Museum created an elegant yet inviting ambiance. With the hotel's stunning historic decor, Kate and Jack kept things simple yet personal with lots of candles, white florals, and sentimental touches honouring their families.

As Kate was walked down the aisle by her brother, her mother Meg held a long-stemmed yellow rose in memory of Kate's late father Jim, for whom yellow roses were a favourite. Jack's cufflinks belonged to his grandfather, and Kate's bouquet held her grandmother's brooch as her "something old." But most touching was the strip of fabric from her dad's favourite shirt, sewn into the ribbons on her bouquet as her "something blue."

A little rain didn't stop their love story

After the ceremony, we captured some newlywed portraits on the grand staircase before the wedding party boarded a vintage double-decker bus. The joyful group sang, played games, and sipped champagne on the way to the picturesque Rousham Gardens. Despite a brief rain shower (I always come prepared with umbrellas!), we were able to explore the stunning grounds for portraits. The rain even parted to reveal a brilliant rainbow - perfect symbolism for this love-filled day.

Back at the hotel, the revelry continued in The Randolph's stunning private dining spaces. The cocktail lounge was the perfect space for Kate and Jack's romantic first dance before they made their way into the skylight-adorned Chef's Table room. Kate was the epitome of vintage glamour and looked like a classic Hollywood starlet in her glamorous figure-hugging gown with dramatic bow train, while Jack was dashing in his white tuxedo jacket.

From the heartfelt family moments to the breathtaking Oxford backdrops, every detail of Kate and Jack's celebration was filled with so much love, joy, and meaning. It was an honour to be there and capture these memories for such a warm and wonderful couple.
